We are seeking a Senior Manager, Business Development (SMBD) to lead a team of experienced salespeople to engage top tier automotive dealer groups for strategic partnerships. The SMBD will continuously evolve the go-to-market sales strategy and work with their sales ops leader to establish reporting and metrics that maximizes team performance and confidently predicts business outcomes based on business and activity inputs. The SMBD will advocate internally and externally on behalf of Amazon, including speaking presence at trade conferences and state dealer groups. The SMBD should have proven leadership, analytical and complex B2B business development skills, as well as great attention to detail, the ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task and a proven record of driving predictable growth with an evolving proposition. The SBDM must be an effective driver and communicator in working with other key stakeholders, including sellers, account managers, product teams, and senior leadership.

The SBDM will influence and build relationships with top dealer groups to drive revenue and increase auto selection coverage. This position requires an entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to influence a diverse set of stakeholders across multiple teams.
Using your deep knowledge of the Automotive landscape, and your solution-oriented mindset, you will develop opportunities for Amazon. You are an excellent oral and written communicator and you possess an analytical approach to business development, leveraging data to drive decisions. You are highly organized and have the ability to work closely and constructively cross-functional teams. You're particularly adept at developing strong, one-to-one relationships and possess a track record of successful negotiation.
*This role will require business travel to seller locations and industry events*.

Key job responsibilities
1. Strategic Sales Leadership & Business Development: Develop and execute GTM sales strategies.
2. Drive predictable revenue growth through Sales Operations & Performance Analytics.
3. Lead and mentor a team of experienced sales professionals, setting clear performance expectations and accountability measures while fostering an entrepreneurial mindset within the team.
4. Build and maintain relationships with key automotive industry leaders and effectively collaborate with internal stakeholders (product teams, account managers, senior leadership).
5. Drive strategic innovation by evolving value propositions based on market feedback and performance data.

A day in the life
This role will play a critical part in scaling and expanding our program. Initially, this role will focus on establishing the sales process, proposition and associated performance reporting and metrics. As the program evolves, this role will focus on building scalable processes and playbooks like creating business development playbook starting from lead generation and vetting to onboarding. An ideal candidate is analytical, autonomous, and cross functionally collaborative with effective communication skills.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience managing teams
- 10+ years of business development, partnership management, or sourcing new business experience
- Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level
- 7+ years of developing, negotiating and executing business agreements experience
- Experience using Salesforce reporting and metrics to manage and predict team performance
